One of the main points of travel planning in Kamchatka is the search for accommodation. But how to choose?
Location
There are three cities in Kamchatka in total. The city of Yelizovo, where the only international airport on the peninsula is located. The closed city of Vilyuchinsk, which can only be accessed by passes. The city received the status of a closed administrative-territorial entity due to the deployment of nuclear submarines and related military units in its bays. And the capital of the Kamchatka Territory is the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It is in the hotels of this city that tourists most often settle. All programs start from here, and if you settle in another locality, you will have to think about how to join a group that starts from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Guest houses
There are hotels in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. When the history of our Kamchatka tour company was just beginning in 2010, we accommodated our tourists in hotels in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, but after a couple of years we realized that they did not meet our needs and ideas about comfortable accommodation for tourists. Therefore, we have built our own accommodation facilities, where we can control the quality of the services provided ourselves.
Bay House Guest House
In 2016, we built our first guest house Bay House. We built according to the plan for the accommodation of our tourist groups, so we thought through all the details for comfortable accommodation. The question of the location was not discussed for a long time — it definitely had to be the center of the city and with a good view from the windows. Thus, the house is located on the shore of Avacha Bay with a stunning view of it and the Vilyuchinsky volcano. We built it with the whole team, everything that you will see in the house is made by our hands with love. The guest house has 8 rooms, two of which have separate entrances from the street.
The common area is suitable for gatherings with a large company, as well as for a secluded relaxing holiday. Soft sofas, warm blankets and pillows. Play board games or guitar, stand on a balance board, read your favorite book and watch a movie — all this can be done in our recreation area. In the spacious dining area there is a large table where all the guests of the house gather for breakfast. There is also a shared guest kitchen with all the necessary equipment for self-catering.
The chef of our house will be happy to cook Kamchatka cuisine for you, and the administrators will make sure that your vacation is great! From viewing the frames of the guest house, it may seem to you that you have already seen it somewhere, this is because a clip of Max Korzh - Knee—high Mountains was filmed here. So you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of this track. And in the common area of the house, Yuri Dud filmed part of the issue about Kamchatka. But this is not all the interesting guests of our house.

Granin House Guest House
"The idea of a guest house has always been there," says Vladimir Granin, the owner of the Granin House guest house. Together with his brother Anatoly, they have been building houses for more than 10 years. The Granina brothers met the Kamchatka freeride community team during the construction of the Bay House guest house. "We bought a plot and started building a house, but we didn't know for what purposes it would be. The guys of the Kamchatka freeride community team became interested in the project and offered to build a second guest house," says Vladimir.
So, during quarantine in 2020, the Granin House guest house was built, which is located a 10-minute drive from the Bay House Guest House and also on the shore of Avacha Bay. Although we built both houses ourselves, their design and interior are different from each other.
There are already 11 rooms with modern finishes and high-quality materials that create comfort from the first minutes of your stay. Guests really like the panoramic windows of the common area of the house, because they allow guests to enjoy one of the main attractions of the Kamchatka Territory — a view of Avacha Bay and Vilyuchinsky volcano. The rooms at Granin House have all the conditions for a comfortable stay: large and comfortable beds, air blankets and pillows, soft towels and, of course, an individual bathroom with a shower cabin, large mirrors.

Both houses
Almost every room of our guest houses is decorated with paintings by the artist Ilya Robe. Around 2017, he came to travel to Kamchatka, where we met. The fruits of this friendship were paintings in guest house rooms and designed prints, which are now emblazoned on our T-shirts, longsleeves and hoodies, as well as on souvenir products. As Ilya himself says, "Kamchatka is a place of strength for inspiration," and we fully agree with him.
At the reception you can order lunch or dinner from our chef, give things to the laundry, order transport, buy souvenirs, rent equipment and book tours from our travel company. From both houses, you can walk to the central embankment of the city to walk along Nikolskaya Sopka, and for more, you can do light trekking to Mishennaya Sopka, on top of which there is an observation deck with views of the whole city, as well as to the home volcanoes — Koryaksky, Avachinsky and Kozelsky.
Camping on Tolmacheva Lake
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, our camp on the shore of Lake Tolmacheva is perfect for this purpose. The road from the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky takes 3-4 hours, it is about 190 km. In good weather, you can even get here by car. The infrastructure of the camp includes separate houses for living, a common area with a kitchen and dining room, a terrace for relaxing and barbecue and decking for tents. Both a tourist group and a family with children can relax here, several groups of up to 30 people can be accommodated at the same time. The price already includes an inflatable mat, sleeping bag, liner, dinner and breakfast and access to infrastructure are included in the price. It is possible to rent a dining room.
And, of course, you can fully enjoy your vacation on Tolmacheva Lake by participating in tourist programs: walks on the lake on a motor boat, sea kayaks or an inflatable sailing catamaran, as well as rent SUP boards.
