Program
Day 1
Arrival in Sheregesh
Arrival at Spichenkovo Airport in Novokuznetsk. Meeting at the airport and transfer by a comfortable minibus to the hotel / guest house in Sheregesh. Check-in. After lunch we head to the Zelyonaya mountain ski slopes and make the first descents (ski lifts are open until approximately 16.45). In the evening, after dinner, we will have a briefing, distribution of the necessary avalanche equipment and an introductory avalanche safety talk.
Day 2
Freeride with drop-offs by snowcat
Sheregesh is famous for its extensive freeride area with slopes of varying complexity and length far from the resort. Exciting skiing through forest and the famous snow fields of the Viktorievka River awaits us. Today we plan to have time for 6-10 descents. Dinner at the guest house.
Day 3
Freeride with drop-offs by snowcat
Freeride with drop-offs by snowcat is possible in any weather. Snowcats bring freeriders up the mountains in a warm cabin, which helps to warm up and gain strength before the upcoming descent. Our guides choose routes depending on the weather, snow conditions and the level of skiing of the group participants. Gornaya Shoriya (Sheregesh) terrain is very diverse: from fluffy untouched slopes to multi-meter drops and dense forest. Dinner at the guest house.
Day 4
Ski-tour
Ski-tour is a special way to discover mountains without haste and fuss. It is kind of a «walk», which allows you to experience hard-to-reach places and then ski down untouched slopes. Today we plan to have time for 1-2 descents with elevation difference of up to 600 m. All necessary equipment can be rented, and our experienced guides will show and tell you how to use it. Dinner at the guest house.
Day 5
Freeride with drop-offs by snowmobile
During freeride with drop-offs by snowmobile you will not only be able to enjoy skiing, but also the beautiful nature around you. Weather permitting, we will head to Oko Shoriya or to the «Camels» rocky mountain formations. Snowmobiling takes on a more dynamic pace. Today we plan to have time for up to 10 descents. Dinner at the guest house.
Day 6
Trip to the Altai Mountains
«Better than he mountains can only be the mountains that you have not seen yet» — is the motto of today’s programme. The journey to our destination will take approximately 3 hours and en route we will have an opportunity to admire beautiful scenery and landscape. Our destination is the northern shores of Lake Teletskoye, the largest lake in the Altai Mountains and the second largest in terms of fresh water in Russia. Weather permitting, we will choose between one or more activities: climbing Mount Kokuya (+ skiing on the slopes of the TeletSki resort, a boat trip to the waterfalls of Lake Teletskoye, a quad bike / swamp tour to the observation deck above the lake. Dinner at the guest house.
Day 7
Departure, transfer to the airport
Today we have a late departure to the airport, so we have the whole day free. You may choose to have an additional day of freeriding or ski-touring, book a tour by helicopter, paraglider or hot air balloon, visit a spa, a deer farm, a husky breeding centre or a skating rink. Departure (around midnight) by a comfortable minibus to the Novokuznetsk Airport*.

* A transfer to Novosibirsk is possible on request.

Answers to frequently asked questions
What kind of medical insurance is required?

The insurance must be valid throughout the entire duration of the tour and cover the following: «freeride / off-piste skiing or snowboarding / skiing or snowboarding in non-marked areas». Merely stating «Mountain skiing» will not suffice! Medical insurance is mandatory for all tour participants.

How is the level of skiing determined in advance?

In the combined group, we can never guarantee a certain level of skiing. We base our judgement on the answers provided by our guests to the following questions: How long have you been skiing? How often? Where do you ski? How can you define your level of skiing? But the answers are always subjective and everyone can interpret the questions differently.

Is it possible to arrive before the start of the tour?

Yes, you can arrive earlier if you wish. Please let us know when booking a tour, that you are planning to arrive earlier, and we will help you find accommodation and plan your stay.

How many guides accompany a group?

2 professional guides of Kamchatka Freeride Community will work with the group. Also on some days there will be a photo and video operator with the group.

What is the best way to buy airplane tickets to join a tour?

When buying airplane tickets, it is important to consider the time difference between the point of departure and Kamchatka. For example, if your tour starts on 01 April, it means that you need to be in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on 01 April. And it means that you need to depart from Moscow, Novosibirsk or Irkutsk on 31 March. From Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Sakhalin or Blagoveshchensk, you can depart on the same date, provided there is a convenient flight. You can arrive at any hour of the day or night of your tour start date, or earlier. Next-day (after the start date) arrival is not permitted, irrespective of the tour programme. Depending on the weather, the tour schedule may change and you risk missing the start of the tour, which is not refundable. The last date of the tour is the return flight date. You may fly back on this date or any time after. If returning to Moscow, you will land on the same date you departed from Kamchatka. The same applies to other cities in Russia, with a difference of one hour.

I would like to travel with a partner, but he (she) does not ski. What can you suggest?

We custom-design tours for guests who do not ski or snowboard in accordance with their interests so that they still spend a lot of time with those who do: in the evenings or on certain trips. Many our guests have availed of this option!
