Vachkazhets mountain range is a natural monument located the Yelizovsky district, 80 km from the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and 34 km from the city of Yelizovo. Although Vachkazhets (highest peak is 1,556 m) resembles a volcano, the work carried out in 2014 has conclusively established that this mountain range of non-volcanic origin. There is nonetheless volcanic tuff and slag on its slopes, caused its «restless neighbours». In summer, the mountain range, which also includes Mount Letnyaya Poperechnaya (1,417 m) and Vachkazhitsy (1,500 m), can be accessed by special off-road vehicles. On the trip, you will also see the most beautiful mountain lakes with unusually clear water. One of them is Lake Takhkoloch, located right at the start of the Vachkazhets mountain range hiking trail.

Hiking in Vachkazhets mountain range
Our trail continues into a deep valley between Vachkazhets and Letnaya Poperechnaya, along the mountain Takhkoloch River, that forms beautiful waterfalls on its way and that we can approach at arm’s length. The trail becomes steeper up the river, that this will not deter experienced travellers. And here it is our goal — the highest point of the cirque framing the mountain valley, from where Vachkazhets, Vachkazhitsy and Letnaya Poperechnaya «grow», where the mountain Takhkoloch River originates, flowing many kilometres into the Sea of Okhotsk. Here we stop to admire the views
Return to vehicles, lunch. Return to the city
After the hike, we will have lunch and head back to the city.

What if my tour has been cancelled?
Payment is made after your application has been confirmed by our manager. Tour cancellation / refund policy:
• If a tour has been cancelled due to weather conditions or technical reasons — 100% refund;
• If a tour has been cancelled at the customer’s request 3 days or less before the tour start date — 40% refund;
• If a tour has been cancelled by the customer less than 1 day before the tour start date — no refund.
