Winter backcountry camp has been organized since 2011!
It means that we have collected enough experience and a lot of practical skills to change the layout of this great program.
This winter you will get new emotions, new friends, plenty of snow, crab, caviar together with a good portion of education. This practice will be useful for those who would like to spend time in the mountains with comfort and confidence. And also for those who dream to visit Kamchatka – our far and unique peninsula in the Far East of the endless country.

Arrival at Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy International airport. Our representatives meet the participants and take them to the monument that says that Russia begins here. Transfer to the hotel “Three Skis” or to the guest house “Bay House” in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy. Check-in. Lunch. Introduction to the guides and program discussion. In the afternoon off-road / snowmobile trip to the coastline of the Pacific Ocean.
A walk along the black beach of the volcanic origin. Return to the guest house / host-hotel.
Dinner. Night rest.
Breakfast. Briefing on safe behaviour in the mountains, practice with avalanche equipment. Lunch. Transfer to the ski resort “Krasnaya Sopka”. Return to the guest house / host-hotel. Lecture on the ski-touring / backcountry equipment. You will learn about types of clothing, ski-touring skis, snowshoes. Lecture on movement strategy during ski-touring and in snowshoes depending on different mountain reliefs. Instructors will tell you how to prepare for uphill / downhill – how to attach skins, to lift hills in the bindings, to set up the height of the heel instep, etc. Dinner. Night rest.
Breakfast. Departure for the ski-touring / backcountry program near the Nachikinskiy Pass, training of the skills given on the lectures. Snack time. Return to the guest house / host-hotel. Lecture on the ski-touring / backcountry itinerary planning. Discussion of the itinerary, analysis of the weather conditions and risks that might arise during the activity. Dinner. Night rest.
Breakfast. Off-road and snowmobile trip to the Avachinsky Pass (25-30 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy). Ski-touring / backcountry on the slopes of the active volcano Avachinskiy / Koryakskiy or hill Camel. The plan for the freeride areas is determined by the senior guide depending on the weather, snow conditions and avalanche danger. Lunch. Return to the guest-house / host-hotel. Lecture on the possible injuries during freeride activities, first aid treatment and transportation during minor traumas.
Dinner and night rest.
Departure for the heliport in Nikolayevka settlement.
A helicopter tour into the crater of one of the active volcanoes. The decision upon the final destination is determined by the senior guide and pilots depending on the weather and snow conditions. Return to the heliport. Transfer to the country hotel. Lunch. Practice with avalanche equipment (shovel and probe) and search of people under the snowslide, targets searching in teams against the clock. Swimming in the hot thermal swimming pool under the open sky.
Dinner and night rest.
Freeride program (snowmobile transfer) – 6-8 descents with a break for lunch. Return to the country hotel. Swimming in the hot thermal swimming pool under the open sky. Farewell party and night rest.
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport via the fish market
and souvenir shop.
Included in the price:
- meeting and seeing off at the airport;
- all transfers during the program;
- support of the group by a personal manager throughout the program;
- accommodation in the city and in the country hotel according to the chosen room type;
- breakfasts and dinners in the city and in the country hotel, lunches on routes, lunch on the arrival day;
- the use of snowmobiles;
- guides services;
- interpreter services;
- processing of documents necessary for migratory services and Federal Security Service in Russia;
- professional photographer or videographer services on the route (any 3 days are chosen by the program arrangers);
- rent of the avalanche equipment (beeper, probe, shovel).
Not included in the price:
- plane ticket to/from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy;
- lunches in the city;
- bar lift/chairlift tickets;
- fee to any swimming pool beside the one in the country lodge;
- extra activities;
- rent of the personal snowboarding / skiing equipment (skis, snowboards, boots, trekking poles);
- other expenses concerned with the program planning and arranging;
- insurance (though insurance is obligatory).
The plan for the ski areas is exemplary. Every day, the group leader makes the final decision about the itinerary depending on the weather, snow conditions and avalanche danger.
Managers will inform you about the possible changes in the program layout a month before the tour starts.
Do not forget about the time difference (9 hours) and the duration of the flight (8 hours 30 minutes)!
To arrive in the first day of the program, you have to leave Moscow one day before program starts - January 1.
When you return, you will be in Moscow on the same day of departure.
Surcharge for additional descents when snowmobiling (more than 8 descents): 1000 rubles per person per descent.
The price is specified for a person for the entire accommodation period in the town.
